Ajman Transport Authority Participates in UITP Bus Platform Meeting and Green Mobility Workshop

Ajman Transport Authority participated in the Bus Platform Meeting and Green Mobility Workshop, organized by the International Association of Public Transport (UITP) for the Middle East and North Africa region. The event was hosted by the Integrated Transport Centre in Abu Dhabi, with the presence of leading experts in sustainable transport, and representatives from government entities across the region.

The Authority was represented by Eng. Sami Ali Al Jallaf, Executive Director of the Public Transport and Licensing Corporation. The discussions covered key global trends in achieving a sustainable public transport system, including the transition to electric buses, the use of hydrogen technologies, integration with school transport services, capacity development, and improving operational efficiency through smart solutions.

During the event, the regional report issued by UITP was presented, titled:
"Decarbonising Mobility: The Rise of Electric Buses in the Middle East and North Africa,"
prepared by a specialized team led by Ms. Anan Al Amri, with contributions from experts and researchers in the fields of sustainability and transport.

Eng. Sami Al Jallaf emphasized that such platforms offer a valuable opportunity for knowledge exchange and showcasing the latest innovations in the public transport sector. He stated:
"These meetings are a vital opportunity to share successful experiences and explore the latest innovations in sustainable transport, contributing to a faster transition towards a low-emission, efficient, and resilient future."

He added:
"The launch of the regional report highlights the significance of collaborative research efforts and underscores the need for coordinated roles among stakeholders to develop policies and solutions that support decarbonization and promote the sustainability of public transport across the region."
